A guide to the symbols commonly used for orienteering maps in Australia is available here.

Maps to be used for Major events should be drawn in accordance with the International Drawing Specifications for Orienteering Maps. The latest version of these specifications may be found on the Rules and Guidelines page of the International Orienteering Federation (IOF) Website.
